Blake's Birth

This has been a whirlwind experience.

We had been planning on inducing on May 1st, which is my birthday. Becky was feeling disappointed because she was hoping for everything to start normally this time.

We went to our last prenatal appointment on the morning of the 30th. The doctor checked Becky out and said, "this baby is going to come quickly, how far away do you live?" We told her about 30 minutes and she suggested that we induce that afternoon. Becky and I were in shock, but agreed.

Once we checked in, Becky actually appeared to be in labor already. Over the next six hours she endured the labor with no medication whatsoever. Before we knew it, it was time to push and Blake came fast. The whole experience was much more intense than Kyla's delivery and I was really impressed at how well she managed it.

After he emerged, he was a little stunned and the nurses took him to the heating bed. We were really nervous that something was really wrong, but they assured us that he was fine.

Cuddling up with MommyHe was a big baby weighing in at 8 pounds 15 ounces, and 20 and a half inches in length, which makes the natural birth all the more impressive. So far we think he looks a lot like his sister did when she was born.

The first night was pretty surreal. We’ve already been hit by the between boys and girls... literally, when he peed on us.
